Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name of Winona Laura Hoowitz. She was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her the city she grew up in after her birthplace. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is a self-described Jewish and descends from Ryder's Jewish father. The actress has also a half-sister named Sunyata Jubal. Her older sibling is Uria. Ryder relocated together with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. In Mendocino County, they did not have electricity. There was no television books were Ryder's only distraction to spend the time and she became an avid reader. Ryder was 12 when she took up a place at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in the year 1983. In 1986 she was offered her first major-screen appearance in the film Lucas at just fifteen years old. Ryder was bullied in high school. Ryder believed that her future as an actress would make a difference. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. However, she pushed on with her dreams. Her breakthrough came with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder was able to continue her successful performances in several movies. In 1993, she was nominated twice to win Academy Awards. One of was for her performance in The Age of Innocence.
